Christos Nikas is a professor of International Economics and European Integration at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia.

He holds a B.A. (with honors) in Economics, University of Macedonia, (1983) a Diploma of Advanced European Studies, College of Europe, Brygge, Belgium, (1984), a Master of Advanced European Studies, College of Europe, Brygge, Belgium, (1986) and a Ph.D. in Economics , University of York, U.K., (1992). He has worked as a Lecturer and a Research Fellow in the Universities of Υork, Leeds, Bradford and Hull, as a Teaching Assistant in the University of Macedonia, as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Economics, Aristotle University and an Assistant and Associate Professor in the University of Western Macedonia. He has also worked as a Special Advisor to the Mayor of Neapolis and a Researcher for the International Organisation for Migration.

His research interests and published works focus on International Economics, European Economic Integration, Emigration and the Greek Economy. He has authored six books and 70 articles in International and Greek Journals. His works have more than 250 citations. ά περιοδικά. He is the Director of the Graduate ProgramEuropean Studies in International Services and Transactions offered by the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia
